The sunscreen that meets the highest standards

Many SunSense products have been reformulated to meet tough, new regulations on the labelling of sunscreens in Australia1. These are considered to be the tightest government regulations in operation for sunscreens and forbid misleading claims about SPF, water resistance and broad spectrum. The entire range includes high factor sun cream for everyone, from sports enthusiasts to children, so you can be sure you’re getting the highest level of protection from harmful UV rays1.

The difference between Australian and European standards

For a start, the maximum labelled SPF in Australia has been raised to 50+1. All of the SunSense new formulations meet this sunscreen standard, providing the highest UVA and UVB protection against the sun’s harmful rays.

Secondly, European sunscreens are allowed to lose up to 50% of the SPF shown on the label after exposure to water1. That means, a Factor 50 sunscreen might really only be Factor 25 after you’ve been swimming, giving you much lower protection that you expect.

In Australia, the SPF must stay the same when water resistance is claimed2. So if it says ‘water resistant for 4 hours' on the bottle, you get SPF 50+ protection and it’s water resistant for 4 hours no matter how much you get wet.

Ever better, Australian standards have put a stop to misleading claims too. So you won’t find terms such as ‘once a day’, ‘sunblock’, ‘sweatproof’, ‘waterproof’ and ‘all-day sunscreen’ on any of our products.

UK SunSense sunscreen products have been formulated with a variety of UV absorbers to provide the highest levels of UV protection1. Developed to suit individual needs, the SunSense range of sunscreen products have the highest SPF available in Australia1, and offer both UVA and UVB protection.

Each formula is unique and free from derivatives and lanolin, has been dermatologically tested and uses high quality ingredients that quickly bond to the skin. Products across the SunSense Face range now also contain 3% niacinamide, a special moisturiser for sensitive skin, and Vitamin E, renowned for its anti-ageing properties.

Families love using it too – in tests, parents found SunSense ‘nice to apply’ and ‘easy to rub in, even when applied liberally’, while 100% would recommend the brand to other parents, friends and family3.  It’s also recommended by 9 out of 10 dermatology nurses in the UK4 so you know it’ll be effective in looking after skin and giving it the right protection.
